      Announcements

The field was reported to be in very good condition. Buddy Scott spoke to the group and announced that the Glenside Warminster Turk Field has been permanently closed. Two recent crashes on adjoining property have caused the township to ban all RC flying in this area. This is a reminder that we must take care of our field and obey all club rules and remember this could happen to us.

Remember the walking speed around the farm buildings and on the access road and please use your BCRC visor. Speeding violations will meet with an immediate suspension from all club activities. If the rope is up and you choose to walk in, please park your car off the road and do not block someone or something in.

The club would like to give many thanks to Bill Dostal and Dale Murphy for their work on the John Deere tractor. Everything is sharp and running in top shape. And thanks to Lou Bower for putting together the work stands

Our BCRC Flea Market on Friday, April 16 at CB West was a big success. Many thanks to everyone who helped to set up and clean up. Bob Paris and his wife worked hard to prepare and sell the food. Profit?  YES! A special thanks to Mike for all the hard work to make the flea market a success.

Upcoming Events

NEXT CLUB MEETING: Membership meeting on Thursday, May 13 at 7:30 pm.

The Spring Picnic will be held Sunday, May 16 at noon, at the field. As always help is needed to set up and clean up.

Safety report, Joe suggested we do not fly alone at the field. Helicopters and airplane propellers can and will bite. If a pilot gets hurt or has a medical emergency with someone else at the field, help can be summoned faster and more reliably. Please consider flying with a buddy.

On the sad news, Fred Q. announced Frank Stanton and Fran McGoldrick, former BCRC members, had recently passed away.

Announcements:

Pete Barrell showed us his latest build, a Smith Mini Plane from SIG. He bought the kit from Penn Valley Hobbies. It has a 4120 AXI motor and 4 cell lipo for power. Pete covered the plane in super fabric from Hobby-Lobby. She is a good looker. Too bad he will have to risk putting it in the air.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.

  Something to ponder:

The Mayonnaise  Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day is not enough;
remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee. A professor stood before his philosophy class
and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and start to fill it with golf balls . He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured it into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.

The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes...'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. ‘Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions. Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the things that matter like your job, house, and car.   The sand is everything else   -- The small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, You will never have room for the things that are important to you.
So... Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children.   Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the dripping tap.

'Take care of the golf balls first – The things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked.' It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'
